About Wilsonville Arts & Culture Council (WACC)

Our Mission

The Wilsonville Arts & Culture Council is a community organization that supports a variety of art and culture activities in Wilsonville. This is done to educate, entertain, attract visitors, and maintain a vibrant community.

History

The Wilsonville Arts and Culture Council was founded in 1995 by Theonie Gilmore, who had a vision to create access to arts and culture in Wilsonville for everyone and create a uniting force for various events in our community.  The Wilsonville Festival of Art was begun independently a few years later by artist and educator Christopher Shotola-Hardt.  After a few years, the two groups joined forces and WFA has become a major regional event.  The art festival and other special events help define the City of Wilsonville, attract new business, and stimulate local economic growth.  It also brings together a powerhouse of creative talents and makes them readily accessible to the public.
