Make Masks w/Master Mask-Maker, Tony Fuemmeler
Tony Fuemmeler is a mask maker, puppeteer, and director. Based in Portland, he works in multiple theatres locally, as well as on stages across the country and abroad. He has taught college workshops in mask and/or performance (University of Kansas, UMKC, Stephens College, Lewis & Clark College) in addition to classes on mask acting for multiple high schools in Oregon, and commedia dell’arte for advanced students at Oregon Children’s Theater. After graduating from KU, Tony continued his study of masks and performance at Dell’Arte International in Blue Lake, California, and then in Bali, Italy and Germany. His mask and puppet work has been seen in such works as The Spider Queen (NOLA Project), The Snowstorm (Many Hats), Maya (Teach For India/ASTEP), The Storm in the Barn (OCT), bugged. (Simple Machines), The Adding Machine (Theatre Vertigo), and the award-winning Pinocchio (Tears of Joy).
